An early researcher recorded the following bits of Mohave Star Lore:

The Milky Way             hatchil-kuya-auunye

Jupiter                            hamo-shekavo-tanye

Venus                              hamure-valtay

Orion                               amo  (Mountain Sheep)

Ursa Major                     hatcha

The Mohave would tell time by where Ursa Major was in the sky
